A 60-year old woman has died after she was found severely injured on a sugar farm near Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Thursday.

Buziwe Zulu died in hospital on Wednesday morning, police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said.

Her fellow workers found her with a deep gash to the head and a broken leg at the Jabulani Estate Farm on Tuesday afternoon, outside the small town of Paddock, 16km inland from Port Shepstone.

She was taken to the nearby Murchion Hospital.

Zulu had apparently had a dispute with her boyfriend. Police were still looking for the man. - Sapa
