Ayanda tells all in new book 'For The Love of Sfiso Ncwane'

Durban - Sfiso Ncwane’s wife says if she was a gifted singer, she would have dedicated a musical album to her late gospel star husband. But since she is not, Ayanda Ncwane, the chart-topping gospel star’s widow, says she has written the book For The Love of Sfiso Ncwane, to keep his memory alive.
“If I could sing, I would have released an album, but since I cannot, I have decided to write this book to keep his name alive,” she told Isolezwe.
The book delves into life in the Ncwane household, fame and life as a woman married to a gospel star.
Sfiso Ncwane became one of the country's most celebrated gospel stars with commercially successful hits such as Kulungile Baba, which received primetime airplay on urban radio stations such as Metro FM amongst others. He was married to Ayanda and they had two boys together.
Ayanda said she had been writing while she mourned Ncwane’s death - who died of kidney failure in December 2016.
“I want future generations to know there was a person called Sfiso Ncwane. I chose to write this book as I continue to pursue the dreams Sfiso and I had together,” she said.
“The book delves into all we faced in our lives and in our marriage,” she said.

Ayanda said she would be releasing Ncwane’s unreleased music, although she did not reveal a date. She said she had planned to release the book on their 10th anniversary, which would have been last year.
“Other people look at us and think everything was rosy in our marriage, but they do not know what we have been through. I want the book to help other young couples who get married at a young age,” she said.
Ayanda said December 5 was always a tough day for her, as this is the day she lost her husband. Last year she spent the entire day sleeping as she was left tearful by people who had been sending her messages consoling her, a year after Ncwane’s death, she said.
* The book is available for purchase on Amazon and at Exclusive Books. A launch event has been mooted, but no date has been announced.
