Nelspruit -

Fraud charges against a senior police officer were withdrawn in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Friday, Mpumalanga police said.

This came after deputy provincial commissioner Major-General Thembi Hadebe provided proof that she had not made unauthorised travel claims, Colonel Leonard Hlathi said.

The charges against Hadebe, based in Nelspruit, were laid in April.

She presented the National Prosecuting Authority with proof that she was not guilty of any wrongdoing.

Hlathi said Hadebe had used her own car on official duties. - Sapa
