A 70-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a man in Mankweng in Limpopo, police said on Monday.

He was taken into custody at his home on Sunday, Constable Moses Molepo said.

Molepo said the man stabbed another man three times in the chest during an argument outside a tavern on Friday night.

The 49-year-old victim died at a local hospital on Sunday.

“The cause of the argument was not immediately clear and it forms part of the investigation,” Molepo said.

The man was expected to face a murder charge in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. – Sapa
