The “most powerful and dynamic” Rolls-Royce ever conceived has just made its UK debut and it's done so in opulent style by making an appearance in a window display of Harrods in Knightsbridge.

Rolls Royce says it's a fitting tribute to the “purveyors of the world's finest goods.”

At the car's UK presentation, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos was also quoted as saying that the vehicle's design “lends itself to a drophead coupe, and I think that will be the next variant.”

However, the boss also admitted that creating another variant would be a time-consuming task and that such a vehicle would not arrive within the next few years.

For now, then, the focus will be on the tin-top Wraith, which promises tantalizing performance in an elegant and luxurious wrapping.

The Wraith's 465kW/800Nm V12 engine reportedly pulls it from standstill to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

It's also got a sophisticated ZF automatic gearbox that plans ahead by using GPS data to see beyond what the driver sees.

Enter the cabin through its reverse-opening coach doors and you'll find a sumptuous mix of soft leathers and sweeping expanses of Canadel wood.

It also has the most dazzling roof lining we've ever heard of in a production car - it houses 1340 fibre-optic lights positioned to give the impression of a glittering, starry night sky.

The eventual open-top Wraith, of course, will show you the real thing.
