I’m sure by now you are familiar with the popular TikTok catchphrase “My name is Darshen” that has taken social media by storm.
Over the past few weeks, it seems like this catchphrase has been making a buzz on the internet and it has also replaced the ultimate favourite phrase, “I’m just a girl.”
Content creator Darshen Kuna has been gaining recognition for sharing videos of him and his friend on a trip - his friend doing all the labour while he is just being Darshen - chilled and undeniably living his best vacation life.
Kuna's social media presence skyrocketed after he released videos on a trip with his friend Dr Samuel Choudhury.
The catch? Choudhury handled all logistical aspects, including planning, the itinerary, and driving. In contrast, Kuna fully immersed himself in the experience, thoroughly enjoying himself and uttering the now-viral phrase, "My name is Darshen."
Kuna's iconic phrase has gained widespread popularity and social media users were impressed with his calm and soft demeanor.
Their first video gained a lot of popularity as people liked the catch phrase and their videos have amassed over 30 million views combined with each video having over 1 million likes.
Social media users flooded the comments section expressing their impressions of Darshen’s laid-back lifestyle, leaving Samuel to do all the work.
One social media user commented, “New life goals: Find a Samuel, become a Darshen.”
Another added, “My name is Darshen is equivalent to ‘I’m just a girl.”
“Darshen isn’t a name, it’s a lifestyle,” one social media user said.
Since the phrase gained immense popularity, so has Kuna's social media following as he recently celebrated reaching 1 million TikTok followers.
Kuna's social media persona doesn't tell the whole story. Beyond his online presence, he actively contributes to the betterment of underprivileged communities through his non-profit organisation.
