This weekend, families in and around Durban are in for a treat with a variety of events that promise to entertain, engage and inspire.
From a nostalgic train journey through the picturesque Valley of 1000 Hills to dazzling musical performances and enchanting theatre productions, there is something for everyone.
Sundowner Rooftop Market
The night market is back by popular demand. Visitors can indulge in a wide range of shopping, delicious food, kids' entertainment and live music.
The one-day market supports micro-businesses and pop-up entrepreneurs who specialise in bespoke items, garments, jewellery, handmade crafts, décor items, vintage wares and toys.
Where: Pavilion Shopping Centre, undercover parking lot B.
When: Saturday, April 26, from 3pm to 10pm.

Umgeni Steam Railway Train Trips
If you're looking for something to do this weekend with the entire family, then why not book a trip on the Umgeni Steam Railway Train?
The 75 minutes trip departs from Inchanga Railway Station, meandering along the Valley of 1000 Hills, before turning around at Botha's Hill for the return to Inchanga. Visitors can also enjoy the Inchanga Station Craft Market and visit the Inchanga Railway Museum.

Music
The Friends of Music presents an afternoon of virtuoso music performed by Evgeny Zhdanov (violin) and Andrew Warburton (piano). They will perform large scale duo sonatas and suites.

"Shrek the Musical"
Lyle Buxton will reprise his title role in "Shrek the Musical", coming to the new Milkwood Theatre in Durban North from April 25 to May 4.
Directed by Lisa Bobbert, the production will have cast of 35 performers comprising senior primary and high school learners, as well as post-matric learners studying at the International School of Performing Arts.

The show delves into the transformative decades of Indian cinema, spanning through dramatic phases, romantic epochs and into the realm of contemporary and new-age cinema.
It will showcase a fusion of traditional Bollywood dances by the Nateshwar Dance Company and circus acrobats and aerial acts by The Circus Agency.
