It's official, Mummy Pig from the beloved animated series "Peppa Pig" is expecting a baby girl.
The global smash hit cartoon celebrated the gender reveal news with a VIP party at the world's first-ever permanent Peppa Pig store at the historic UK landmark, Battersea Power Station on Friday, featuring a fundraiser in support of National Childrenās Trust (NCT), the UKās leading charity for pregnancy and parents.
NCT was announced earlier this month as the official "Pregnancy and Parenting Charity Partner" for "Peppa Pig" in the UK.
The piglet's gender was revealed when the iconic Battersea chimneys were lit pink to mark a very special moment.
A video of the joyous occasion was shared with fans on Instagram alongside the caption: "š Itās a girl! š" ... āØCongratulations to the whole Pig family!"
This joyous news was first revealed during a podcast interview with American podcast host and media personality, Kylie Kelce, in February, where Mummy Pig shared her excitement about welcoming baby number three into the family.
During her appearance on the "Not Gonna Lie" podcast, Mummy Pig warmly addressed her children Peppa and George, who also made a cameo during the discussion: "Mummy's on a call, you two. Sorry, where was I? Oh yes, the announcement," she chuckled before revealing, "Well, I'm thrilled to say I'm pregnant. Baby #3 is due in the summer."
As the Pig family gears up for their growing unit, Mummy Pig also shared how the pregnancy has brought her closer to Daddy Pig.
In a candid interview with "Grazia", she expressed her gratitude for his unwavering support: "Heās always been such a supportive partner and an excellent Daddy to Peppa and George, but this has brought all of us even closer."
The excitement doesnāt stop there as fans can join the Pig family on the big screen with "Peppa Meets the Baby", a brand-new cinema experience launching Friday, May 30, in over 2,600 cinemas across 19 countries.
The hour-long, song-filled screening features 10 brand-new episodes, as Peppa and George prepare for the arrival of their baby sister.
In addition, the gender reveal episode will air on YouTube on Saturday, May 3, as part of the "Peppa Pig Tales" series.
"Peppa Pig" first aired in 2004 and has since been broadcast in 180 territories and translated into 40 languages.
