During an emotional interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Meghan Markle, who appeared makeup-free and casually dressed, shared a personal tradition she has cultivated for her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Each night before bed, the Duchess of Sussex writes emails to her children, creating a digital time capsule filled with memories, reflections, and expressions of love.

This idea was inspired by one of her friends.

“One of our mom friends had said to me last year that she just created sort of secret email addresses for her kids that she’ll give to them at some point in their life. She would just send them, you know, random pictures, the pictures that you aren’t going to put in a frame,” said Meghan.

Since creating email addresses for her little ones, she now sends them messages documenting everyday moments, such as report cards, amusing anecdotes, breakfast photos, and playful interactions with their dog.

In these messages, she shares candid, unfiltered snippets of their lives that might not make it into photo albums but still hold sentimental value.

Meghan plans to gift these email accounts to her children when they are older, perhaps at 16 or 18, offering them a glimpse into their childhood experiences and how much she loves them.

During the podcast, Meghan became visibly emotional when talking about this.

She shared, "Here's everything and every moment that I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you."

She emphasised that the essence of motherhood lies not in grand gestures but in the daily acts of love and recognition.

"It's about 'I see you. I'm nurturing you and I see you so deeply.' And I'm just so proud of them."

During another moment in the interview, the duchess was reduced to tears when she received a surprise letter from Archie and Lilibet, which was transcribed by her husband, Prince Harry.

The note read, "We love your cooking, we love your pancakes, and we love, love, love your hugs. You're the best mummy and we love you."

Touched by their words, Meghan remarked on the sweetness of the message and noted the British term "mummy," reflecting their family's blend of cultures.
