90s talk show host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle bumped into Grammy Award-nominated R&B and Pop Singer, songwriter, record producer and actress Keri Hilson.
The South African TV icon bumped into Hilson at her favourite American Bistro and shared a video of them on Instagram.
“Met Grammy Award nominated artist @KeriHilson. What a beautiful, warm, talented artist. As we say in South Africa, or better yet in #Mzansi, she has #ubuntu.
“Obviously, I am too 'young' to know much about the new R&B stars. I'm stuck in the era of the older ones,” captioned Mabuza-Suttle.
In her caption, Mabuza-Suttle revealed that the musician would be coming to South Africa in July, even adding that if it were during the “Felicia Show”, Hilson would have been a guest.
“Googled @KeriHilson. What an accomplished artist.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Loved her energy and warmth. She took time to stop and chat. Now here I am sharing with you..
“If we still had the #FeliciaShow in South Africa, we would definitely have invited Keri to come on and share some of her hits like, Knock You Down, (featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo), Single Pretty Girl Rock, and her latest single-- Say That, and more.”
The video of Mabuza-Suttle and Hilson shows them having a fun casual conversation, sharing jokes and laughing. In her caption, Mabuza gave more insight into their little meet-up.
Hilson is no stranger to Mzansi, having previously performed at GrandWest Arena. Cape Town and Mangaung African Cultural Festival in Mangaung, popularly known as Macufe. In the clip, Hilson says “See you at the show” hinting at a performance.
In April, Hilson released a new album, “We Need to Talk”, her first full project since her 2010 offering, “No Boys Allowed”.
