Award-winning actor Abdul Khoza has taken to Instagram to share a clip of his last audition, marking a touching moment in his career.
The talented actor, known for his captivating performances in shows like āShaka iLembeā, āIsibayaā, and āThe Wifeā, captioned the clip with a heartfelt message.
Khoza has announced that he will be stepping away from being in front of the camera lens, sharing his last audition tape to show the realities of the acting industry to those who wish to pursue acting as a career.
āSo I decided to share one of my last auditions that I did this year before I decided to simply quit acting,ā Khoza wrote.
āThis is a way for me to show those who still wish to pursue a career in acting that we all go through the audition processes,ā he added.
By sharing this glimpse into his professional journey, Khoza aims to inspire and guide aspiring actors.
The audition clip showcases the award-winning actorās dedication to his craft, and his willingness to share his experiences with others. As he steps away from acting, Khoza expressed his gratitude to his fans and supporters, thanking them for believing in him and allowing him to share his talents with the world.
āThank you to everyone who ever supported my journey as an actor. I am honoured to have been able to share my talents with you. I would have never known my own talent without you,ā he wrote.
This decision comes after Khoza penned a heartfelt letter to the entertainment industry, which he co-wrote with his peer Dave M, revealing the highs and lows of his career.
The talented 37-year-old actor, who rose to fame after winning the second season of the SABC1 reality competition "Class Act" in 2011, poured his heart out in a candid reflection on the highs and lows of his career.
In the letter, he spoke about the impact his work had on his audience, but also the toll it took on his mental health. Despite his success, Khoza felt broken and isolated, yearning for connection and understanding.
It read: āDear Entertainment Industry, you recall my name? Iām the one who once dazzled the masses with my talents. When boredom and despair threatened to consume them, I appeared on their screens, a beacon of hope in a custom-made suit.ā
He spoke of the impact his work had on his audience, inspiring young people and providing comfort during difficult times. Despite his success, Khoza spoke candidly about the toll the industry took on his mental health.
āI'm broken, just like them. Iām a slave to the very craft that once set me free,ā he confessed. He revealed feeling isolated and yearning for connection, despite being a constant presence in the lives of his fans.
āIn the silence, I yearn for connection, for someone to sing to me, to entertain me, as Iāve done for them for so long.ā
Khozaās industry peers flooded his comment section, commending him for his incredible talent and wishing him well.
