Netflix has officially confirmed that "Emily in Paris" will be returning for a fifth season, however, key cast member Camille Razat will not be joining the upcoming season.
In a bittersweet revelation, Razat, known for her role as Camille on the global hit series, has announced her departure, citing "new horizons" as the reason.
On the show, Camille was originally the girlfriend of Emilyās (Lily Collins) crush Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and became Emilyās first friend in Paris when the American arrived in the city for her new job.
After breakups, reconciliations, an engagement and false pregnancy with Gabriel, on-and-off-friendship with Emily and a tumultuous romance with Sofia, Camille packed her bags and left Paris at the end of season four.
This departure, however, seems to lead her in an exciting new direction.
She wrote on Instagram: "After an incredible journey, Iāve made the decision to step away from 'Emily in Paris'. It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories."
The actress expressed gratitude towards the creative team behind the show, including creator Darren Star, and teased that while her characterās arc may have reached its conclusion, the door remains open for potential return.
"Iām deeply grateful to @starmandarren and the entire team at @netflix and @paramountpics for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of the 'Emily In Paris' world.
"This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end."
As she turns the page on her time in Paris, Razat is embracing her next venture.
"Iāve recently wrapped two series: 'Nero' for Netflix and 'The Lost Station Girls' for Disney+. Iām also excited to share that Iāve launched my own production company, @tazar_production.
"We mainly produce music videos and short films for now, but weāre currently developing our first feature film, something Iām truly passionate about and excited to grow."
The star topped it off with a heartfelt message to the cast, crew and her millions of fans: "I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way. Thank you for the beautiful ride š."
Razatās co-stars expressed their admiration and support in the comments.
Collins said, āLove you, sister. Itās been a wild ride and an absolute pleasure. Youāre a rockstar. So proud of you.ā
Lucien Laviscount, who is cast as Alfie on the show, echoed the sentiment with an emotional tribute, recognising Razat's storytelling prowess and strong spirit.
"From day one, youāve been my rider on this show. Your passion for storytelling, your dark sense of humour, your unwavering ability to stay true to yourself, when everythingās pushing you in a different direction.
"Youāre special, Camille, and I feel absolutely honoured to of been able to dance with you these past seasons. Keep on shining. Iām going to miss laughing with you. Iām cheering you on in everything you do š„."Bruno Gouery, who plays Luc on the series, wrote: "We'll miss you ⦠šš."
