Popular drag queen Jiggly Caliente, from the award-winning reality TV series “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, has passed away at the age of 44.
Caliente, whose real name is Bianca Castro-Arabejo, died on April 27, following hospitalisation due to a serious infection and complications that required leg amputation surgery.
Her family confirmed her death in an emotional statement shared on Instagram.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente. Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends."
The statement continued: "She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world. Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light.
"Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered."
Caliente made her mark on the entertainment industry not only as a contestant on the iconic drag competition in 2011 but later as a judge on “Drag Race Philippines” in 2022.
In light of the unexpected costs associated with her healthcare and memorial services, the family has reached out to her friends and fans for financial assistance.
"We’re asking for your help. Your support will go directly toward the funeral, memorial services, medical bills, related expenses, and everything needed to give Jiggly the beautiful, heartfelt goodbye she deserves.
"Any funds beyond that will be donated to causes she cared deeply about - causes that fought for the people she fought for every day," read a part of the statement.
It also stated that a private ceremony will be held for close relatives, while a larger public celebration to honour Caliente’s vibrant spirit will be held at a later stage.
