Controversial podcaster, Macgyver 'MacG' Mukwevho is once again facing backlash for comments made on his show, this time regarding TV presenter Minnie Dlamini.
In a recent episode on Podcast and Chill, MacG commented on Dlamini's recent split from plastic surgeon, Dr Brian Monaisa.
The couple is said to have officially called it quits on their romance earlier this month.
Confirming the news, Monaisa shared a statement on social media stating that their relationship ended due to "purely personal" reasons.
He went on to squash rumours that their relationship ended due to cheating.
"Whilst our romantic relationship has come to an end, there remains mutual respect between Ms Dlamini and I," he said.
'Something wrong with her'
During the back-and-forth banter, Mukwevho went on to question Dlamini's ability to keep a man.
"Bro, I'm telling you man. There's got to be something wrong with her; maybe her coochie smells or something. You know this happens, man, it happens, especially with the hot girls," Mukwevho said.
Social media users have called for the podcast, viewed by millions of people in SA and abroad, to be shut down.
Backlash
Local entertainment channel, Moja Love, condemned the comments.
"MacG's persistent use of derogatory language towards women, reducing them to vulgar slurs and objectifying their bodies, is not just offensive; it is a damaging reinforcement of gender-based disrespect. Such behaviour has no place in society and media specifically, where voices should uplift, not degrade," said Moja Love's Nonzwakazi Cekete.
Cekete added that misogyny on air doesn't just harm the individuals targeted; it perpetuates a toxic culture that normalises the dehumanisation of women.
"To MacG and others who use their platforms carelessly: accountability is not optional. We urge audiences and broadcasters alike to reject sexist vitriol and demand better. Respect isn't a privilege, it's a right," she said.
Responding to the conversation, Dr Monaisa said the hosts showed that they have a problem with successful women.
Last year, Nolwazi Nzama 'Nkosazana Daughter' filed a R13 million lawsuit for defamation against MacG.
IOL reported that this legal action stemmed from controversial comments made during an episode in July, where Mac G claimed that the father of Daughter’s child is not Sir Trill, as many believed, but rather Master KG.
Actress Rosie Motene also sued lodged a R1m defamation lawsuit against MacG for comments made on the show.
