British MP Louise Mensch has revealed that she is lobbying for a knighthood for rock guitarist Jimmy Page - one of her husband’s former clients.

The 67-year-old Led Zeppelin star was represented by Peter Mensch, a noted figure in the world of rock management.

Mrs Mensch, 40, wrote of her campaign to turn Page into Sir Jimmy on Twitter. “I’ve proposed Jimmy Page. Waiting to see if that finds favour with Honours Directorate. I hope so.”

She denied that her husband’s past role as his manager had any influence, adding: “Clearly there is nobody more worthy of a knighthood and I am glad to say I have gathered support from every major record label in the UK.” - Daily Mail
