Johannesburg - The eThekwini Municipality has issued a health warning following the flooding of its sewerage system in the heavy rains of the past month.

The sewage posed a health risk because of high levels of bacteria, said spokesperson Thabo Mofokeng.

Mofokeng advised residents to avoid swimming at beaches near river mouths, in river water and in stormwater drains. - Sapa
