A second rider, severely injured in Kyalami's blackest weekend for many years, has died in Sunninghill hospital.

Marco Pugi, 28 of Eden Glen, crashed his Suzuki at the bottom of the Mineshaft, one of the fastest places on the circuit during the first Thunderbikes race on Saturday morning.

He was taken to hospital, where he was declared brain-dead on Sunday night. He was taken off life support in the early hours of Monday morning.
