Comic Con is set to grace the African continent for the first time this September, and one of the biggest announcements after the event reveal was that "Game of Thrones" and "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa.

Taking to their official Twitter account Monday, Comic Con Africa announced that Momoa had to withdraw from the event "due to an unforeseen film schedule change". Adding that the actor expressed his regret, and hopes to attend future events.

We are sorry to announce that due to an unforeseen filming schedule change Jason Momoa has had to withdraw his participation from Comic Con Africa 2018.

However, while Mzansi won't meet the chieftain of a Dothraki Khalasar, they will have the chance to meet  "American Gods". 

Earlier this month, Comic Con announced that "American Gods" actors Yetide Badaki and Ricky Whittle has been added to the event line-up.  

The three-day event is to be held from the 14th to the 16th September, at the Kyalami Convention Centre.
